Gateway Game – What’s the Point?

An attempt to gamify gateway placement and add some fun to the app.

Incorrect placement of the 5G Gateway is a big issue and frustrates customers. This aids in awareness around proper gateway placement. Integrating the Game into the flagship app subtly educates customers about optimal gateway placement while entertaining them.

This “edutainment” approach reduces the number of technical support calls caused by poor placement, lowering operational costs. At the same time, the interactive format drives repeat app engagement and strengthens brand affinity, creating more opportunities to cross-sell services and capture valuable usage data for targeted offers.

Future Possibilities

• Retention Tactic: Apply earned points (up to 10) as a one-time annual bill credit.
• Level-Up: A mesh-placement version of the game.
• Mobile and Sync Up levels.
• ML Intelligence: Submit placement photo to be illustrated, scored, and added to the game.

This game is designed to complement—not replace—existing placement features within the T-Life app.
